ABOUT HARDY BOYS RECORDS

Hardy Boys Records is located in Charlotte with four locations, with the flagship stores located at Camp North End and in the Southend neighborhood. It opened in October 2023, and offers a variety of new and used records, CDs, cassettes, music gear, comics, band t-shirts, and Hardy Boys merchandise.

MY ROLE AT HARDY BOYS RECORDS

Fun Fact: I co-own this store with my husband, Dean!
It is our family business. We’ve loved serving the Charlotte music community over the last few years, and it’s one of our greatest joys.

Building the Hardy Boys Records brand was an exciting (and enormous) undertaking! As any designer knows, branding something so close to yourself is no easy task. This project is something I'm incredibly proud of; it pushed me to grow as a designer in so many ways. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness the positive public response to our shop’s experience in real time.

The Hardy Boys Records identity and assets include:

Logo, brand identity, and design system
Outdoor lit signage design, window signage design and installation, poster design
HBR merchandise (t-shirts, swag, totes, stickers, coasters, trucker hats, and more)
Motion graphic animation for TikTok videos and Instagram reels
A customized photo booth
Interior design (paint, decor, furniture, interior mockups with creative direction for contractors)

Exterior signage

Backlit sign design concept, produced and installed by Prism Supply Co.
Living Room area

I wanted to create a beautiful space that was inviting for patrons to sit down, chat, and people-watch. This has become a popular photography spot for local indluencers, weddings, and graduates.
Interior

Wood slat wall details were installed to represent sound bars, with movable shelves to hold records, plants, and decor.

Our shop is next door to a bar and a coffee shop, so branded takeaway coasters were a must as our customers sip their drinks and peruse.
